Our Mission
AccessibilityAtlas is an international, youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating a world where individuals of all abilities can fully participate in their communities—whether in leisure, education, or civic life. We believe systemic inequalities stem from a lack of education, ineffective legislation, and limited access to information. Addressing these barriers is at the heart of our mission.

-
Our Information Services branch is committed to breaking down barriers by providing reliable, resources allowing everybody, regardless of ability to make informed decision. Through innovative platforms and inclusive outreach, we ensure that knowledge is accessible to all—the right to information is the right to life.
-
Modern problems demand modern solutions, which is why we are actively working to amend the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to address opportunities in today’s highly digital world.
-
To further government accountability, we are authoring a report for the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, evaluating accessibility across the European Union. This report will be presented at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in March 2025.
-
Everyone has the right to understand how higher education institutions meet the needs of all students, regardless of ability. By collaborating with universities and students, we aim to improve campus accessibility and inclusivity.
-
Civic empowerment is another pillar of our work. We author civic education curricula to equip individuals of all abilities with the tools to engage in the democratic process. By fostering a deeper understanding of government systems, we ensure that every person—regardless of ability—can make their voice heard, influence decision-making, and actively participate in society.
